We received this in for my 11 year ancient for Christmas. After opening we used 3 minutes of the camcorder time and then took two pictures. Around 4:00 he went to do a small more shooting just to find the camera had partially melted and the batteries had burned up. It smelled horrible! I would not recommend this product to anyone. Not to mention it now shows [...] but I only paid 38.00 for it a week ago.
I have been trying to get in touch with Polaroid all day today with no luck. No i’m worried I just threw away 38.00

I got this camcorder for my wife for Christmas, excited about the price. I figured there must be a catch, but I thought it was cheap because of the tiny memory in the camera.
Turns out, it’s cheap because it takes crappy videos and pictures. Maybe it works outdoors, I haven’t tried it, but indoors the picture is dark and grainy. There is no flash for the still photos or light for videos on the front, leaving the indoor pictures too dark. It isn’t even worth the cheap price you pay. We’re sending it back and getting one that’s really worth it!

This is a fantastic small camera for the price. It is fantastic for filming those 1-2 minutes clips of kids in Christmas musicals. Lengthy filming would result in long download times. For under 40$ – this is a fantastic, battery operated digital camcorder.

Although the price is low and the camera should meet my needs there are some problems with the product description. The Description is for DVF-130LC. The product for sale is a DVF-130TC which has an 8x zoom rather than 4X but only has 16Mb built in memory rather than 64Mb. I’ve not opened the package yet since it is a Christmas gift. Hopefully it will accept SDHC memory cards. If not I may have to return it. There is no mention of this model on the polaroid web site.

At such a cheap price, it is really surprising how fantastic this camera really is. The stills are clear, video is pretty excellent, and once again, the price is unbelievable. If you are looking for a camera that you could tote around in your purse (or “man bag”) to capture those unforgettable moments, I highly recommend that you buy this small jewel!
